Joe Schappa became an emeritus member of the firm on June 1, 2014. Although not involved in the day to day work, Joe retains his association with the firm and is available for advise and comment on all aspects of design and construction. Joe offers 50 years of experience and architectural knowledge. Beginning with his extensive experience with building design and construction in Boston, MA where he studied under Walter Gropius at Harvard University and worked for The Architects’ Collaborative (TAC), he continued to establish strong architectural design and management skills and became a partner of our firm in 1971. His vast knowledge of construction systems and their impact on the learning environment is second to none. Joe has a passion for visualizing and creating improved education facilities for the future. Joe is highly regarded by professional educators and professional peers statewide, striving to design the best school buildings possible for his clients, students and the community.
