OSHP Academy Courtyard Addition

A new addition designed to be a center for assembly and learning functions boasting a 300 seat auditorium with stage and projection room, an office suite for academy leadership, including a Commandant’s office and supporting office spaces for Staff Lieutenants. This office area offers a VIP meeting room, and a boardroom style conference room with teleconferencing capability. The courtyard was redesigned to allow an outdoor parade deck to support a variety of academy functions along with a complete redesign of the existing courtyard layout, with remembrance wall, flagpole, eternal flame, and bell tower. Configuration and character of this space was critical to the identity and function of the academy. Project came in under published estimated cost. The project is currently in construction, tracking on schedule for completion July 2014.

FMS Architects was hired by the Ohio State Highway Patrol to provide documentation, specifications and construction administration for this OAKS-CI project. It includes exterior shell repairs, roof replacement, and installation of 3 emergency power generators.
